As afternoon passed into evening, demonstrators for and against Trump milled around outside the jail. There were more Trump supporters than opponents braving the intense Georgia summer heat, but the entire group was outnumbered by media near the Rice Street entrance to the jail, which was locked down tight. The number of people grew as the hour of Trump’s booking approached.As word spread that Trump was on his way, demonstrators lined security barricades outside the entrance, with people two to three deep trying to get a good view. He has been released on $200,000 bond. Toronto police say two people were shot and injured in the city’s west end on Thursday night.Authorities were called to the Northcliffe Boulevard and St. Clair Avenue area around 7:30 p.m. for reports of gunshots.Police located two victims who had been shot — one was rushed to hospital via an emergency run, and a second victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.A firearm was discovered at the scene, police said, noting a suspect had fled on foot.The St. Clair Avenue West and Northcliffe intersection is shut down for the investigation.A heavy police presence is expected.Trump has surrendered for a fourth time this year. CHICAGO -- Chicagoans may be able to place a bet at its first casino just after Labor Day.Before any money is laid on the table or fed into slot machines, Bally's must pass a practice gaming session. AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was sentenced in July for murder in connection with a 2021 offense, according to Travis County court documents.Records showed 33-year-old Ronald Glen Falkquay pleaded guilty July 28 and negotiated the terms of his sentence.Falkquay was sentenced to serve 17 years in state prison for the July 17, 2021, murder of Gerson Garcia-Mejia.
