(KRON) -- Oakland has been listed as one of the hottest real estate markets in the country, according to GoBankingRates.com.The website compared every city’s real estate market factoring in things like sale price, number of days on the market and number of homes sold.Oakland’s Rockridge neighborhood is a quiet suburban area with a lot to offer and a lot of high-end homes. But high-end homes seem to be the hardest to sell for realtors. The article published Sunday boasts Oakland’s housing opportunities saying the median number of days a home for sale is on the market is just 19 days with 72 percent of homes selling above asking price.David Stark with the Bay East Association of Realtors said that’s because of location, location, location.“Got a close proximity to job centers in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley and the South Bay," Stark said. "You got access to recreation in the Oakland Hills, you go some fantastic individual neighborhoods within Oakland and it’s a lot more afford...

Nineteen families lost their homes when a fire tore through a Cambridge condo complex in 2021. Nearly three years later, the families still cannot return home even though they’re still paying monthly condo fees. 7 Investigates recently looked into the situation, speaking to 80-year-old Julia Dubnoff, who is frustrated by the boarded-up windows and damage. “They said ‘Well, those three apartments, you would be displaced for eight months.’” Eight months has turned into nearly three years. In total, 19 units at the Continental Gardens were gutted on Jan. 13, 2021, with their residents forced to find other places to stay. Some live with families. Others are renting while still paying condo fees. “I also have to pay for the condo plus I have to pay for temporary housing,” Dubnoff said. “So, I’ve been living off of savings for almost three years and I’m going broke.” FirstService Residential, which oversees the building, told 7 Investigates that “supply chain ...

Opinion: The Bears won, but Luke Getsy's time as offensive coordinator may be up

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 08:38:16 GMT

CHICAGO — The Chicago Bears squandered a lead and Justin Fields bucked his fourth quarter woes to lead them to a comeback victory over the Minnesota Vikings Monday, but Luke Getsy's play-calling continued to be the bane of the Bears' offensive existence, and change needs to happen fast if he wants to keep his job. Last Week: The Chicago Bears lack vision – literally and metaphorically Before I go on this tangent, I am not going to sit here and advocate for Getsy to be ousted outright. At the end of the day, this is a man who's built his life around working as a coach for one of America's most recognizable football teams — and if he get's the boot — I don't want to be counted toward the crowd who metaphorically danced on his grave as his life was thrown into chaos.I am sure Bears fans, Getsy and I would all prefer things to be sunshine and daffodils when it comes to the football team who plays their home games at Soldier Field. Unfortunately, that is not our reality.I am just here ...
