St. Paul murder charges: Men were watching TV and drinking before fatal stabbing

A 24-year-old man arrested in Saturday’s murder in St. Paul stabbed the victim six times after the two had been watching TV and drinking beer together, according to charges filed Monday.Alfredo Arturo Alvarez-Flores, of St. Paul, is accused of killing 30-year-old Juan Jose Jimenez-Alarcon, also of St. Paul, at a home in the 1000 block of Charles Avenue.According to the criminal complaint, officers called to the home around 10:30 p.m. found Jimenez-Alarcon sitting on the couch covered in blood. Medics soon pronounced him dead. No weapons were found on or near his body.A man told officers his friend had been stabbed by Alvarez-Flores, who left on foot. He showed police Alvarez-Flores’ Facebook profile and his white shoes on the front lawn.He told police he had picked up Alvarez-Flores and brought him to the house to hang out. AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Montgomery County District Attorney Lorraine Diamond announced that an Amsterdam man has been sentenced on drug related charges. The charges stem from a 12-count indictment including criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, according to the DA. Upon his arrest by the Amsterdam Police Department, Roman-Calderon, who police say has 2 prior felony drug sale convictions, allegedly attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended. Detectives learned of Roman-Calderon’s drug activities through investigations. APD was assisted by the New York State Police's Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team and members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to bring Roman-Calderon to justice.

(NEWS10) -- Shortly after midnight on Monday, the Colonie Police, the Town of Colonie Fire Services, and the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department responded to a brush fire at a roundabout on Albany Shaker Road. An individual was located nearby and further investigation determined the same individual caused multiple fires over the past few weeks.
